Junior Miss Fylde Coast Mr England North West Fylde Coast

Sophie-Leigh Does the Fylde Coast Proud at Miss England

Miss Fylde Coast, Sophie-Leigh Anderson, took part in the Miss England Finals earlier this week and was a credit to the area narrowly missing out on a Top 5 placing.

The Finals, consisting of 61 girls, were held over two days at the Hilton Metropole Hotel in Birmingham on Monday and Tuesday.

Sophie-Leigh took part in the Welcome Party, an Eco Fashion Show and Talent round on the Monday evening.

In the Eco Fashion Show the 61 girls had all created their own outfits from either recycled, re-used or ethically sourced materials.

On the Tuesday Sophie-Leigh took part in the main event which consisted of an opening scene wearing a specially created Miss England Dress created by leading fashion designer Karen Karmody, an Evening Wear section and a Sports Wear Finale.

Sophie-Leigh breezed into the Top 15 as one of the 6 Judges choices after also being placed in the Top 10 of the Best Beach Body and Great Lengths Stunning Style Award categories.

Sophie-Leigh narrowly missed out on a Top 5 place, however, in a fiercely contested Final.

Alize Lily Mounter was crowned Miss England in a ceremony which was streamed live online.

Sophie-Leigh said of her experience;

“I was delighted to be given the opportunity to represent the Fylde Coast on such a big occasion”

“It was an incredible experience that I’ll remember for the rest of my life”

“I’ve made so many new friends from all over the country, all the girls were so lovely”

“I’m looking forward to the rest of my year as Miss Fylde Coast now and hope to get involved with as many things in the area as possible”
