Junior Miss Fylde Coast Mr England North West Fylde Coast

Boot Camp

Miss Fylde Coast, Sophie-Leigh Anderson was put through her paces “ArmyStyle” last Monday as part of her preparation for the Miss England Finals.

Sophie-Leigh travelled down to the Hilton Metropole Hotel in Birmingham for the Miss England Sports Boot Camp Event.

Army Physical Training Instructors from www.regimentfitness.co.uk  put all 61 finalists through a gruelling 2 hour fitness test.

The contestants took part in warm up exercises as well as Army Drills including Press Ups, Sit Ups, Burpies and Shuttle Runs.

The Top 20 contestants were then “rewarded” by taking part in one final test, the Army Bleep Test.

A running endurance test where the prize for the last girl standing was a fast track place in the Top 15 at the Miss England Final.

Sophie-Leigh did magnificently well to make the final 20 but narrowly lost out to eventual Miss England Sportswoman award winnerJade Williams (Miss Stratford Upon Avon).

Sophie-Leigh said of the experience; “The Army Instructors didn’t go easy on us and it was a real tough test to take part in”

“Although completely exhausting, it was a fun day and a great opportunity to meet the other finalists!”

Sophie-Leigh now has 3 weeks to prepare for the Miss England Final on 19th July in Birmingham
