Blackpool Gazette Eco Feature
Well I’m all set for the Miss England Semi-Finals- nervous and very excited at the same time!!
My eco-costume has been stressful but a great experience and taken up most of my half-term from school!! But it is finally finished and looking pretty fantastic (thanks to my mum and her wild ideas!).
I really wanted to reflect my reigning region of the Fylde; the skirt was made from an old hula hoop, bed sheet and covered with old promotional leaflets from the Fylde Coast. The top was cleverly designed and made by my class out of Yellow Pages Papier Mache. My good friend and talented artist helped me to make a Blackpool Tower shaped crown out of two wire coat hangers.
After all the excitement and rush to have it complete I received a lovely phone call from Elizabeth Gomm at the Blackpool Gazette for an interview focussing on my eco-costume. I was also lucky enough to have a photographer visit me at home to photo me in my delightful costume, which caused quite a stir with the neighbours!! :0)
